Each year, the Columbia Terrier Association of Maryland holds an All-Terrier Match Show, accompanied by specialty (single-breed) match shows, all-breed match shows, and other clinics, tests and evaluations of interest to all dog owners. Match shows are informal competitions, the wins at which do not count toward AKC championship points, which afford a wonderful opportunity for exhibitors to practice their handling skills and introduce their young dogs to the show ring, as well as a chance for new judges to hone their skills -- all in a low-pressure, fun environment.
Entries at the match compete with others of their breed, divided into Puppy classes by age, plus Open Class. There are also classes for Junior Handlers. The judge for all Terriers this year was Ms. April Clyde.
This year's match was held at the Oregon Ridge Recreational Park in Hunt Valley, Maryland, in conjunction with the Baltimore County Kennel Club match. Also available at the same site and on the same day was a microchipping clinic and AKC DNA test kits and information.
